The 2009 Victorian Waterways Archive
Alison specializes in scientific and environmental photography with a particular focus on water-related images. She worked previously as a freshwater research scientist with various authorities including Melbourne, La Trobe and Northern Territory Universities, Department of Sustainability & Environment, Victorian Environment Protection Authority and Water Ecoscience.
The 2009 archive will soon be available and will contain over 400 images from more than 150 waterways and catchments throughout the state.
The images portray both technical and aesthetic aspects of Victorian waterways. Environmental processes such as salinity, erosion, eutrophication and landuse impacts are illustrated in some images while others are more aesthetic with an abstract or textural nature. Drought-related images are also featured in the archive. The images capture both broad scale catchment perspectives through to macro details. All images are embedded with IPTC metadata. The Archive is available for viewing online via password or a DVD thumbnail archive can be forwarded for viewing on request. Individual high resolution images or the entire archive are available for purchase.
